The Makeup and Beauty Blog Monday Poll for December nine, 2013

Y'all might exist wondering, "So what the heck is this Monday Poll affair anyway?"

Well, it isn't much of a poll. It's more only a constantly evolving (devolving?), somewhat random list of questions I've been putting out to readers every Monday morning for the past six years. I've e'er enjoyed reading your answers in the comments, and I hope you enjoy reading mine.

1. One of your favorite holiday snacks/noms/sweet treats?
   Oh, so many to cull from, only I look forrard to Trader Joe's Nighttime Chocolate Stars every year…even if my waistline does not. 🙂

   Whatevs… Waistline just needs to deal. I'd rather indulge and then run an extra mile or two.

2. How do you lot know when a mascara is right for you?
   My lashes are normally pretty average — stick straight, no curl to speak of, and non particularly long or thick — different El Hub's, which are AMAZING.

   I swear, boys get the all-time lashes… It's but not fair.

   Anyways, yep, I tin normally tell when a mascara hits the sweetness spot for me when information technology holds a coil from my lash curler, makes me get "OooOOOoooh" when I meet it on in the mirror for the first time, and information technology doesn't smudge or flake.

   While I don't like drama in my personal life, I need it from my mascaras. BRING It!

3. What'due south one matter you practise really well?
   Uh…sleep?

   LOL! I tin can slumber through almost anything — thunderstorms, earthquakes, concerts. I'm a deeeeep sleeper, and in one case I'yard out, I AM OUT.

4. Is it snowing where you live?
   Virtually. It most never snows hither in Marin County (just due north of the Golden Gate Bridge). Maybe once a smidgen every 10 years or and then. It gets cold — like down around the upper 20s for a couple weeks a year — only it rarely snows.
5. What'due south something weird you keep in your purse?
   Cat treats.

   Are cat treats weird…? There are a couple of new kitties in our neighborhood, and I'm hell bent on befriending them.

   Nutrient is the fastest path to feline friendship! Hmm… I should put that on a bumper sticker.

6. Do y'all e'er wear dark smokey optics to work?
   Sometimes. The dress lawmaking here at the home offices of Tabs the True cat Industries, LLC, does occasionally call for dressy attire. 😉
7. Are you piece of cake to spot in a crowd?
   If it's a oversupply of curt people, LOL! Or if I'm waving my phone to a higher place my caput like a maniac to get your attending. I'1000 pretty short.
8. What's your all-time over-protective parent story?
   In one case in high schoolhouse when a boy came over to have me out on a date, my dad was doing some yard work in the dorsum yard.

   He invited the guy back there for a "quick chat." While they were there, my dad went through his regular list of non-negotiables (no drinking and driving, missing curfew, etc.) while swinging a huge axe back and forth in front of the poor child's face up.

   I was mortified at the time…only now I simply recollect it was just hilarious!

9. Are there any beauty products you need to re-purchase?
   Right at present? YSL Touche Eclat in 4.5 and Kate Sommerville Anti-Bac Clearing Lotion.
10. What's the best affair that happened to you final weekend?
    El Hub and I had a really lovely, relaxing Saturday dark. We turned on the Comcast Yule Log channel on the TV, listened to Christmas music and read books by the fake fireplace.

    It was so overnice…
